Help Us Help Families!

Little Missionary’s Day Nursery stands out for its unique, creative, emotionally responsive practice – which has grown and thrived over the past 20 years.

WHY WE’RE HERE Since 1896, families of the East Village have raised their children at 93 St. Mark’s Place. We own our building, and owning it is a major part of what carried us through 130 years of a changing neighborhood. In 2001 the school nearly closed. It was saved by the Peacock Fund, an endowment built by families who came before us. Their foresight paid our way for a generation. Now it’s our turn to lay the next foundation.

WHY WE NEED YOU Affordable tuition only works if our teachers stay, and they do. Our staff has been here an average of 15 to 20 years. We cover their healthcare, we keep class sizes small, and we teach children to understand their own feelings before we teach them their letters. Families come for the price and stay for the people.
